The 1999 Acura NSX Alex Zanardi Edition This car, basically a lightweight NSX coupe, is the Alex Zanardi edition. It’s car number 42 out of 51 produced. They were painted New Formula Red over Onyx to match the CART race car and were produced to commemorate Zanardi’s championship CART seasons. At the time Honda and Acura were only making Targa versions. They ceased production of the coupe in 1995 making the 1999 Alex Zanardi Fixed Roof Edition even more rare. The car was designed to commemorate Alex Zanardi’s CART championships with Honda in 1997 and 1998. The features of the Alex Zanardi Edition were taken from the Japanese market NSX Type S. This car includes a lightweight rear spoiler, single pane rear glass, staggered-diameter, 18/19” HRE wheels, aftermarket stereo, and a lighter battery which helped shed 150 lbs. off the production version. It has a clean CarFax report and 41,811 miles on the clock. The car has been garaged in the present owner's collection and maintained meticulously by his personal mechanic.
